A Beautiful Day for a Walk! Sacramento Memory Walk 2009

What a beautiful Day! Saturday, October 3rd was the 2009 Sacramento Memory Walk. Located on the South Steps of the California State Capitol walkers gathered together to help fight Alzheimer's Disease.

Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $260 million for the cause.

All Memory Walk donations benefit the Alzheimer's Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

As of today the Sacramento Memory Walk has raised $153,779 and the donations are still rolling in! The Sacramento Memory walk has a community of people who gather every year to help make a difference and I am proud to be a part of that community!

Top Fund Raisers:
1. Annemiek Storm
2. Virginia Stone
3. Maria Sandoval
4. Kelly Ulrickson-Fugina
5. Maureen McNulty

Team Rank:
1. Annemiek Storm/Genworth Financial
2. Carmichael Oaks
3. Emeritus Senior Living
4. Kelly's Heroes

I want to thank my team "Kelly's Heroes" for their help, support, and generosity that brought us to the forefront in creating awareness for fighting this terrible disease. We walked together and celebrated with the second annual Team Kelly's Heroes "Bloody Mary Breakfast" after the walk. This year Team Kelly's Heroes raised $5,585. Outstanding!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Dear "Krass!" - Wow! What a rude and immature comment! What's so crass about raising money for a charity one cares about? GROW UP!

Perhaps you should learn to spell correctly!

[from Latin crassus thick, dense, gross]

adj) crass ((of persons) so unrefined as to be lacking in discrimination and sensibility
