Bodega Bay Anniversary Trip Part 1

One of our favorite places to get away for some rest, relaxation, and the chance to throw on a cozy sweater and jeans is Bodega Bay. Since Kevin and I were married 7 years ago on September 29th, and my Sister Brittany and her husband Steve were married just two years ago on September 30th, we decided we would spend the weekend together enjoying the beautiful weather and toasting our nuptials.

Our "usual" routine for traveling to Bodgea is stopping along the way at various wineries. However, this year would be different...our trip would not be complete without a stop at Taylor's Automatic Refresher in St. Helena. It's a little out-of-the-way of the direction to Bodega but well worth it!

At Taylor's Automatic Refresher you can get everything from a Hamburger, to an Ahi Burger, Fish & Chips, Salads, Hot Dogs, Chili, Veggie Burgers, Shakes, Wine, and Beer. I ordered the Cheeseburger - all natural, antibiotic and hormone free California beef, Steve ordered the Texas Burger, Brittany, the Patty Melt and Kevin, the California Chicken. Of course we all had a beer and the best sweet potato fries ever! We sat out on one of the picnic tables and enjoyed the first part of our journey in the Napa Valley sunshine.

After lunch we headed into Sonoma to Charles Creek Winery. They have a great tasting room on the square and host some fabulous wines! Our favorite, the '04 Miradero - a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A "must try", the La Bomba Chocolate Dessert Wine. Mmmm, Mmmm!
