Hidden Concert Venue...Stern Grove, A Great Day Trip!

We love going to Stern Groove for concerts. It's a hidden gem that's well worth getting in the car for a quick drive to the city!

Stern Grove Concerts take place in Sigmund Stern Grove, located at the corner of 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco. Today Stern Grove is a natural amphitheater surrounded by giant eucalyptus, redwood, and fir trees. A favorite concert site for many. In keeping with Mrs. Stern's vision, the wide selection of performers reflects the Festival's commitment to exceptional programming and to serving diverse audiences. A beloved Bay Area tradition, every summer Sunday for nearly seven decades, family and friends gather to relax, picnic, and enjoy performances by some of the world's greatest artists in this glorious natural setting.

Check the weather before you go and pack a sweater and a blanket or two for when the fog rolls in... it can get a wee bit chilly!

The last time we were at Stern Grove we saw one of our favorite Hawaiian musicians Kealii Reichel. Coming August 10th we hope to escape to the Islands again with an all-star line-up performing together for the first time! Performers include Na Leo, the most popular female trio in Hawai’i; guitarist, vocalist, ukulele player and former member of the Ka’au Crater Boys, Ernie Cruz, Jr.; Kaukahi, who toured recently with Jack Johnson; and One Right Turn with Connie Cruz, Tiffa Cruz-Garza, and singer/ukulele player and member of the Opihi Pickers, Imua Garza.
