Younger-Onset Alzheimer's

10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer's disease - that's one out of eight - according to the 2009 Alzheimer's Disease Facts and Figures Report. The report not only reveals the tremendous impact Alzheimer's will have in the near future, it also highlights the current social and economic plight of the estimated 5.3 million Americans now living with this devastating disease, and their families. Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in America, surpassing diabetes.

Did you know Alzheimer's disease can strike people who are as young as in their 30s?
It's called younger-onset Alzheimer's. It affects nearly 500,000 Americans! Younger-onset individuals may be employed or have children still living at home.
Issues facing families include ensuring financial security, obtaining benefits and helping children cope with the disease.

Now is the time to help the Alzheimer's Association raise awareness of the terrible threat that Alzheimer's poses to America's future! Please spread the word...
