If you can't make "The Big Bang", go enjoy the Opening Weekend Celebration September 27th & 28th. The transformed California Academy of Sciences includes sustainable features that blend the beauty of architecture with the park's natural setting. The innovative design has already gained international recognition as a cultural icon.

Pritzker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano, working with the Genoa-based Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW), in collaboration with the San Francisco-based Chong Partners, has created one of the city's greenest buildings. The Academy is the only place in the world with an aquarium, a planetarium and a natural history museum all under one roof.

The Academy won't be the only place brimming with life! Before or after your visit, enjoy the festivities in the Music Concourse. Live music and dance, sustainably-sourced delicacies from around the world, green technology demonstrations, and a wide range of art and recreational activities for the whole family.
