2008 Race for the Cure at Cal Expo

An estimated 25,000 people turned out Saturday morning at the 12th annual Sacramento Komen Race for the Cure at Cal Expo. Race for the Cure raises awareness about breast cancer and money for research and services.

This year my Sister and I walked with Marilyn’s Mana & Ohana team. Marilyn is my friend Jean’s sister who lost her battle with breast cancer in December. We felt is was important to be out there to take steps in helping to find a cure, and most importantly, to support and walk with our team.

It was a beautiful day! Lots of happy, energetic faces all out there for the same reason…to help find a cure for this terrible disease.

For those of you want to know what Mana & Ohana means…Mana is Spirit and Ohana is Family = Marilyn’s Spirit & Family. We both wish Marilyn’s family a big warm Aloha. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
